Scripture Reading: Ephesians 6:14b

Let us begin today’s reflection with this message, “Let us serve the Lord in holiness and He will deliver us from the hands of our enemies.”  Today the good Lord wants us to learn something about righteousness. The secret to victory against the wicked spiritual forces in the heavenly world, the rulers, authorities, and cosmic powers of this Dark Age is the weapon of righteousness. Righteousness challenges the devil a lot because it is the very contradiction of him and what he stands for.  So whenever he sees unrighteousness he jumps in to accuse the victim.  Revelation 12:10 describes Satan as, “…the one who stood before our God and accused believers day and night.” He accused Joshua the High Priest in Zechariah 3:1-4, “In another vision the Lord showed me the High Priest Joshua standing before the angel of the Lord. And there beside Joshua stood Satan, ready to bring an accusation against him…  Joshua was standing there, wearing filthy clothes.”   A story was told of a minister of God who was being accused of fornication as he ministered deliverance prayers on someone. There is nothing that attracts the devil to attack us more than unrighteousness. In fact it creates a door for him to come into our lives.  In the case of Job, the devil was humiliated by the righteousness of Job; he saw nothing to accuse Job about. He tried to cause our Lord Jesus to sin against His Father so that he can find an excuse to accuse him. Of course he failed woefully.  Can you see how righteousness torments the devil?  It is this weapon of righteousness that we are called to deploy to tackle the works of Satan in our lives. You will not need to engage in too much  shouting when righteousness is active.  Many families under the bondage of the devil are not able to achieve their liberation because of unrighteous living. The church overcomes the devil both when the ministers and those ministered to operate in true holiness of life.  When they gather for Mass or any service, the cloud of righteousness electrifies the whole gathering of the children of God to the extent that both the ministers and the people encounter the glory of God.  Beloved in Christ, righteousness must prevail for the gate of hell not to prevail.  Righteousness is the wind

that blows the devil away and brings in the divine presence of God. We win battles easily and in such a large scale because the Holy Spirit operates in fullness through righteousness. Righteousness protects our hearts from corruption. A task is therefore set before all churches’ ministers, evangelists, deliverance ministers, intercessors, and all children of God to take righteous living seriously.  If it is absent, all our travailing in the spirit will be in vain, yielding no fruit.  It will be like the empty vessel making the loudest noise.  Nobody tells Satan that there is righteousness in the “house”, he will know, people around will feel it, many will be influenced by it because holiness is contagious. ”…Take away the filthy clothes…” (Zechariah 3:4b)
