Scripture Reading: Genesis 18:14

As you journey with us in God’s word today through this devotional, God wants you to know that you are not accidental as some scientific and philosophical theories will want us to believe. These scientific and philosophical theories are giving us the notion that man came to be, by accident. This implies that there is no plan, no intention, no design and no purpose for our lives. That is, man has no destiny, we are aimless and purposeless being, nothing to live for. Contrary to these scientific and philosophical theories, God’s word declares, “ For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope”(Jeremiah 29:11). The daily workings of our world and life experiences are not product of chances rather “He (God) has made everything suitable for its time; moreover he has put a sense of past and future into their minds, yet they cannot Find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.”(Ecclesiastes 3:11). In Ecclesiastes 3:1, God says; “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.” God has a plan, in which he has appointed time for everything. There is an appointed time.

Does it look like God is delaying answers to your prayers? Are you probably of the opinion that you have been waiting for too long? I have a word for you: there is an appointed time for everything on earth. Take a look at this; mangoes, maize, yam, sun, rainfall and so on come up as planned by the Creator at their respective times and seasons. Thus, by the time each of them appears, a purpose is served and a need is met, timely, and hence, beautiful. The same applies to man in this voyage called life. All our experiences will happen uncontrollably as programmed, as instructed and as ordained by God. This is the reality of life. Nothing happens to you unless ordained and approved by God. Abraham and his wife tried all they could as a couple for many years, but they could not produce a child,

until the divinely appointed time came. Even the crooked method he and his wife adopted was rejected by God. God can delay a miracle or an event for reasons best known to Him and makes it happen very fast and swift when your divine season comes. Having fasted and prayed over an expectation, which delays in manifesting, the implied message is that you should be patient, for God is working things out in your favour. Have this in your mind always and rejoice in this hope that all things will end up for your good. That was why God spoke about patience through Prophet Habakkuk in Habakkuk2:3, “For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” (NKJV)
