MONDAY DAY 12
CAST YOUR HOOK
Scripture Reading: Matthew 17:27
Brethren, what are your thoughts about wealth, where does it come from and how we use the talents and resources God has given us? Deuteronomy 8:18 says, “But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today” (NIV)
We always need to remember that the Lord is the one who gives us the ability and skill to create wealth. When things are going well, it is often easy to take all the credit for the wealth we have accumulated and just as it is easy to blame God when things go wrong.
You have been blessed with gifts and talents. You have been blessed with knowledge and wisdom. They are to be used to create wealth. You have the power to create wealth. Wealth is not just money. Success is wealth. Victory is wealth. Promotion is wealth. Your health is wealth. Your potentials are wealth. You can create your future with the abilities you have been given.
They needed to pay tax. The physical money did not fall from heaven. Peter went to the sea. He cast his hook. He caught a fish. He opened the mouth of the fish. I perceive he took the fish home also. He took action with the fishing ability or talent he had. He used his skill. Your action is necessary to create wealth. Don’t sit idle or just pray that money may come. Think and put your skill to use.
So the question we need to focused on is not how we can create wealth to get that next big house, or a fancy car or other self-focused things, but how we can create wealth to further His kingdom remembering that. All resources in the world belong to God.
