(Day 7 of the Fasting and Prayer Programme)

Scripture Reading:  Genesis 1:27 – 28

Our scripture reference says, “. . .. Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it . . ..”  God says, “Be faithful.”  How wonderful is this covenant that it is one of the first blessing of the Lord to mankind? Fruitfulness is God’s plan for us. Incessant miscarriages, inability to conceive, even after doctors certification to be medically fit to have children abound. These we must bring to God in prayer. Sometimes lack of faith does hinder the ability to conceive and prolong barrenness. St. John says, “For whatever is born of God conquers the world.  And this is the victory that conquers the world, our faith.”  You must believe in the fact that in God’s plan you are to be fruitful.  You must believe in His word that says, “No one shall miscarry or be barren in the land.” (Gen. 23:26) This is the word of God, which can never change.  Why not believe it and declare it to yourself daily? Do you know that whatever you declare in faith, you possess? Most often victims seem to conclude that they may never have children because barrenness or miscarriages are common to their families.  This means placing natural or traditional conditions above the word of God. St. Paul warns the Colossians thus, “See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to elemental spirits of the universe, and not according to Christ.” (Col. 2:8) Beloved, with confidence in the Person of Christ, natural laws cannot stand the mention of the Name of Jesus.  No matter what may have been the situation in your family, depend on the power in the Blood of Jesus.  The Holy Spirit says to us today, believe God in all things. Depend on Him in all situations. Hand your situation over to Him and do not rely on your own understanding.  The God of power will fulfill His covenant as promised.
