Scripture Reading: 1 Timothy 6:17
God could not have brought you to this earth without making adequate provisions for all you would need here. The God of all wisdom knows all your needs and has made provisions. When God thinks about you, he sees beyond what you can see about yourself. Your vision about life is limited, and most times centred on things here on earth. But the Lord thinks about all things when it concerns you. He thinks about your spiritual well-being, and to him, that is the most important. Apart from our spiritual wellbeing, He ensures our physical and material wellbeing. In fact, he provides for us all things that are good! He is not a stingy God. Your God is a generous God. He knows what you need, how much you need and when you need them. However, as spiritually blinded children in matters of spirituality we often ask for things we do not need. Most of us, our attentions are here on earth and this explains why our requests are often dominated by our desires when making request to God. James 4:2-3 has this to say, “You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasure.”
If we are sincere to ourselves, then, this is where the problems lie. So then how do we ask according to the mind of God? For, it is obvious that one can only receive from God when he or she asks according to the mind and will of God. The scripture is clear about this truth, 1 John 5:14 tells us, “And this is the confidence which we have in him: that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. May I remind you again that God is not like man! God is God, and God is a God of principles. You cannot meet God’s conditions and He will fail to meet your needs. It is not possible. Here is the principle that will never fail.
Jesus says in Matthew. 6:33, “But seek first of all his kingdom and his righteousness and then all these things will be given you.” Beloved in Christ, this is Jesus talking to you, the one who gives us richly all things. So, it does not matter what any other person says to you, this, is the secret to greater open doors in your life; open doors that open into prosperous life here on earth and eternity in heaven. Beloved, do not be afraid to take this walk with Jesus, he is the way, the truth and the life. I assure you, no one who has ever taken this walk with Jesus ever regretted, I can stake my life to this truth. His faithfulness is never compromised. “He gives us richly all things according to his will.”
