Scripture Reading: 1 Samuel 17:1

Welcome to the table of God’s word today. God saying says to you Do not cry again. Let go of what has irreparably failed in your life. There is always provision ahead of you. Where one fails, God always provides another.  Mourning is an indispensable part of human existence. We will certainly lose things in life. People will depart from our lives. Some of our goals in life will not be met. Ecclesiastes 3:4 says: “a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance.” You can weep, shed tears or weep over what you have lost.  Weep and move on. God had rejected Saul. Prophet Samuel who was very close to Saul found it difficult to come to terms with Saul’s rejection. He kept weeping for Saul. God had to practically tell Samuel to stop weeping. He told him to take his horn to go and anoint a new king.
