Scripture Reading: Eph. 2:13-22

Our scriptural reading says, “Now therefore, ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God.” Have you ever felt excluded and alone in the midst of even the brethren? Are there times you have sensed someone deliberately making you feel irrelevant either by their words or actions? Maybe in your place of work or in fellowship or church or worst still, in the family; you may have been deliberately ignored and some others preferred and praised. Beloved in Christ, it would be great for you to closely study our reading of today:  “You are no more strangers or a foreigner…” God in His mercy and graciousness has numbered you in His household.

Eph. 1:13 says, “You also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of salvation…” Even though men excluded you in their programs, plans and affection, the Holy Spirit is saying to you that God included you in his program and agenda from the moment you received Jesus into your heart and gave your entire life to Him. You have your place, your very own portion; an allotted portion preserved and reserved for you in Christ. Never feel left out, displaced or excluded no matter how men act towards you or what they say to you. Your place in Christ is secured and it is neither inferior nor insignificant. In you are a fellow citizen with the saints of God and nothing and nobody can separate you from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus. You may not be considered important by the people around you today, but be assured of God’s love and expectations for you.  Just be faithful in whatever your hands have found to do. Be content and rejoice in that which the Father has given you. You must cherish your portion, nurture it and nourish it because the Lord has already blessed it. Beloved, don’t allow men who lack the knowledge of what God has prepared for you to dictate your view of life. For eyes have not seen, ears have not heard neither has it come into the hearts and imaginations of men the things that God has prepared for you because you love Him. Don’t ever be discouraged by men’s attitude towards you. Don’t give up your estate on account of them, it is not worth it.

God Himself has numbered you among His elect, don’t “un” number yourself because men desire to exclude you. Their desire will never be satisfied, if you remain faithful to Him who has included you in His plan. Be glad and rejoice in the Lord at all times. I say rejoice.

Prayers Points

  1. Thank You Father for counting me among the elect and for including me in Your purpose and plan.
  2. Help me to know and cherish my portion in Your agenda.
  3. Increase my capacity to love.
  4. God, my Father, May I love You in all things and above all things. May I reach the joy which You have prepared for me in Heaven. Nothing is good that is against Your Will, and all that is good comes from Your hand. Place in my heart a desire to please You and fill my mind with thoughts of Your love, so that I may grow in Your wisdom and enjoy Your peace in the name of Jesus.
