(Day two of the 5-day Fasting and Prayer)

Scripture Reading: 2 Chronicles 7:14

Welcome to the second day of our 5-day fasting and prayer. One of the clearest elements of biblical invitations to salvation is the demand for repentance. Forgiveness and repentance go hand-in-hand in the life of a Christians. If there will be repentance, there will be forgiveness, but there is no repentance without humility. Our scripture reading captures what it means to repent thus “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Today the Holy Spirit assures us that our sins are forgiven. God is too willing to forgive us. In the parable of the prodigal son, you will notice that the father did not allow his son to finish the little repentance plea he had before the father embraced him. God is more willing to forgive than we are to receive the forgiveness. No matter your sin(s) as far as you have sincerely repented of it and ask for mercy, God has forgiven you. The Holy Spirit prompts us to emphasize this, because there are some persons who are doubting that God has forgiven them so easily. You have to believe God and forgive yourself for God has forgiven you. Some persons have refused to forgive themselves of some sins they committed in the past. Two things we must do today is having repented and asked for mercy from God, we must forgive ourselves and forgive others who have offended us. The ball is now in our court, God has forgiven us, but if refuse to forgive others, we are simply saying we do not need God forgiveness.

Make sure you forgive and let go of all bitterness. This is necessary at this time for your fasting to get positive results. Go to Confession and renounce all your sins, Purge yourself with the Blood of Jesus Christ, Ask for the Fire of the Holy Spirit to come upon you to destroy the stronghold of sin in your life and  forgive all those who have offended you.
