Scripture Reading: John 11:40
Welcome to the second day of our 21 days prayer/ fasting programme. Jesus teaches a lesson today, mainly faith. It is only through the eyes of faith can we witness the evidence of divine glory. The realm of divine glory transcends the natural reality, which only the eyes of faith can pierce. Hebrew 11:1 defines faith as “is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” There is a familiar saying, “Seeing is believing,” but in spiritual matters that is not necessarily true. The greatest faith any of us could possess is the ability to believe without seeing. Jesus said, “Thomas, because you have seen me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed” (John 20:29). “For we live by believing and not by seeing”(2Corinthians 5:7). “…. Although you have not seen him, you believe in him. So you rejoice with great and glorious joy which words cannot express……” (1 Peter 1:8).
The secret of a victorious Christian life is the ability to see the invisible and tap from supernatural resource. Faith is the supernatural gift that gives us access to the supernatural world. Faith does not only give us access to supernatural realities, but gives the power to cause the supernatural realities to manifest in the natural realm. That is, faith enables us to call things into existence. Faith is not a disregard for physical fact, but an affirmation of a spiritual reality over the physical.. That is, faith sees that indeed am sick as the physical evidence is proving, yet faith also sees health and healing in the supernatural realm. As such when the natural man makes the conclusion only based on physical evidence which sees only sickness, the man of faith, makes a different conclusion, which sees health and cause it to manifest in the physical body. While the natural man would lament and cry over the doctor’s report of kidney disease, the man of faith would say “By the stripes of Jesus I am healed. My kidney, receive life” and because of his faith on the ability of God to heal he will receive divine healing. Our heavenly Father is happy when we exercise such raw faith based on our knowledge of who he is.
In 2 Kings 6:14-17, Elisha servant focus on the report of the natural eyes and became worried and over terrified, because he lacked faith, and so had no ability to see beyond the physical. When his eyes of faith were open he saw the other side of the situation. Faith gives us the true picture of things. Brethren are you only seeing your sickness, your barrenness, enemies’ threats, no life partner, and poverty, the bad and frightening side of your situation as reported by the natural sense? From today, you must start seeing beyond the physical limit of the natural senses. It is time to see the invisible, it is time for your eyes of faith to open, so that you can see that your healing is a reality, your breakthrough is real, your life is a success, your story is glorious, your advancement is a fact and not a myth. See beyond your fear, your doubt and your unbelief, which are the great enemies of faith. See God, ready to recreate your ugly situation into beauty during this 21 days of prayers/ fasting.
