(Recite or sang)

  1. Holy Spirit, Lord of light,

from thy clear celestial height

thy pure beaming radiance give.

  1. Come, thou Father of the poor,

Come with treasures that endure,

Come, thou Light of all that live.

  1. Thou of all consolers best,

Thou, the soul’s delightsome Guest,

Dost refreshing peace bestow

  1. Thou in toil art comfort sweet,

Pleasant coolness in the heat,

Solace in the midst of woe.

  1. Light immortal, Light divine,

Visit thou these hearts of Thine,

And our inmost being fill.

  1. If thou take thy grace away,

Nothing pure in man will stay;

All his good is turned to ill

  1. Heal our wounds; our strength renew

On our dryness pour thy dew;

Wash the stains of guilt away

  1. Bend the stubborn heart and will;

Melt the frozen, warm the chill;

Guide the steps that go astray.

  1. Thou, on those who ever more,

Thee confess and thee adore,

With thy sevenfold gits descend:

  1. Give them comfort when they die,

Give them life with Thee on high;

Give them joys that never end.

V:  Send forth Your Spirit and they shall be created

R:  And you will renew the face of the earth

V:  Pray for us, O Most Holy and Most Loving Heart of Mary.

R:  So that our hearts may be inflamed by the ardour of your love, O Mary.

Let us pray:

We entreat you Lord in your mercy to pour into our souls Your Holy Spirit, Who has brought us together by His wisdom and governs us by His providence.  Almighty and eternal God, who has prepared for the Holy Spirit a fit dwelling place in the heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary, mercifully grant that recalling the memory of the same Most Pure Heart of Mary we may live by the same heart.  Through Christ our Lord.  Amen.
