No love? You lost!

Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 1321-2

The greatest commandment is love. Our Lord Jesus Christ told us to love our neighbour and to love God with all our heart. There is no way we can love God without showing love to our neighbour. If we love God, we won’t neglect the poor and needy. We express love for God when we express love for our neighbours through our words and action.

Love is very important. Claiming to serve God or work- ing hard in the eyes of all without love is hypocrisy and an error. According to 1 Corinthians 13:1-2, the most important thing is not speaking in tongues or prophesying because all are useless without love. What this is trying to show us is that having spiritual gifts is not the most impor- tant thing but love is. Do not be deceived into thinking that heaven is already yours because of the gifts you have. If you have all the gifts but refuse to genuinely love God and your neighbour, you may be rejected at the end. “Brethren, you may manifest all the gifts of the Holy Spirit without actually be pleasing to God. This may generate a lot of discussions. But the truth is that it is the manifesta- tion of the FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT in which LOVE is prime that matters. God can use anyone to show His greatness and power. Only the one who manifests true selfless love manifests Jesus Christ.

Love is divine. It is the language of heaven. God creat- ed the world out of His love and we are made to love. God wants us to become children of love. Our Lord Jesus Christ taught us how to love in the parable of the good Samaritan in Luke 10:30-37. Love is showing mercy. Love forgives and forgets as we can see in the parable of the prodigal son in Luke 15:11-32. Love corrects, love heals, love leads to heaven.
