Scripture Reading: Ezekiel 44:11-15

There are two kinds of Christians in the church. Both kinds of Christians serve in the church and minister to the people. What makes them different? One group can minister to God while the other group cannot! Why cannot the second group minister to God? The answer lies in what cannot be seen outwardly. They may dress nice and look clean when they come to church, but they are nasty inside.

In the scripture reading of today, God speaking through the Prophet Ezekiel was talking about these groups of people: group of Levites who had strayed from God and went after idols; God still permitted them to serve as ministers in His sanctuary but rejected them for Himself. Beloved, which group do you belong?

The truth of the matter is that personal sin does not stop ministry. The Word of God in Romans 11:29 says, “The gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.” So, one can be living in sin and still be operating in their gifts and callings. Why? Because God is merciful, gracious, and long-suffering. It is by His loving-kindness that we are not consumed (Lamentation 3:22). Because judgement is delayed; men think that they can get away with evil (Ecclesiastes 8:11). Some people can minister in amazing gifts that God has given them and even under the anointing yet privately they are disgusting to God. Why? God loves his people so much that He can use anybody to minister to them. God even used a donkey to speak to Balaam.

“Now in a large house there are not only vessels and objects of gold and silver; but also vessels and objects of wood and earthenware, and some are for honourable (noble, good) use and some for dishonourable (ignoble, common).” (2 Tim. 2:20) What kind of vessel are you? The honourable or the dishonourable one? How will you be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, useful to the master, prepared for every good work? By cleansing yourself from things which are dishonourable, disobedient and sinful (2 Timothy 2:21). Holiness is not optional in Christianity; It is obligatory!
