Scripture Reading: Acts 23:11

Dear beloved in Christ, I want to encourage you. Don’t be afraid. Take courage and do the next right thing as God directs you. As the theme of our lesson today, St. Paul was on his way back to Jerusalem after the third missionary journey that took him into Greece. He had previously said to his friends in Ephesus, “Compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there” (Acts 20:22-24). It seemed that in every town he went, some people wanted to kill him for what he was doing. Yet this did not deter St. Paul from testifying to the truth of the Gospel.

We repent of the times we had a chance to say something about the truth and said nothing. We regret the times we did speak but did not do so in a way that aided in communicating the truth in God’s love. While in custody the next night, our Lord Jesus Christ comes to St. Paul to assure him that he still has work to do. “Take courage! As you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome.” Our Lord Jesus promised, “Surely I am with you always to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:20). Our Lord Jesus Christ had been with St. Paul throughout the highs and lows of his ministry.

Our Lord Jesus Christ goes with us when we speak His word. Wherever we go, He goes with us. Whenever we speak, He is there. No matter what, He is going to work it for good. He simply calls us to be faithful in sharing that glorious message of his Death and Resurrection, and know that He will get us through whatever else comes our way. Child of God, take courage. And as you take courage, take the message that has been entrusted to you. The message that we have, is so important that we have to share it; people’s souls are on the line. No matter the challenges, take courage in your testimony of the Truth and support God-inspired evangelization effort like DSD.

We know already the efforts of many in sharing free copies of DSD. We are aware of many Users and Distributors in and outside Nigeria, who are committed to the DSD evangelization and Charity outreach missions. One of our sisters reported having an encounter in which our Lord Jesus Christ told her, ‘JISIKE’ ‘meaning, KEEP IT UP’. Indeed, blessed is the messenger that brings good tidings, may God bless all your efforts, amidst your challenges.
