Scripture Reading: Acts 23:11

We can learn lessons about His presence in our difficult times: THE LORD KNOWS ALL OF OUR DIFFICULT CIRCUMSTANCES. The Lord did not need to send out a Team of Angels to find out where St. Paul was. He knew exactly where His servant was and what he needed at that moment. The Lord knew of the plot that the Jews were forming against St. Paul, not to eat or drink until they had killed him. The Lord knows all of our difficult circumstances, and the enemy can only go as far as the Lord permits, and no farther.

Dear friend, you may be in a prison of difficult circumstances—a physical illness, a financial crisis, the heartache of a loved one who has no place for God in his life. The Lord who stood at Paul’s side is present with us spiritually. He particularly manifests Himself through His Word. Sometimes it comes through a word of encouragement from another believer.

“ Take courage!” To the disciples, who thought that our Lord Jesus Christ walking on the water was a ghost, He said, “Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid” (Matt. 14:27, Mark 6:50). To the disciples on the night He was betrayed, our Lord Jesus Christ said, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). Truly, our Lord Jesus is the Lord who encourages those who are discouraged. Previously you were active in DSD Evangelization and Charity outreaches, why did you get discouraged, whatever the reasons are, our Lord Jesus Christ says to you today: MY BELOVED TAKE COURAGE, DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED. It is a gentle and gracious command. That implies that we can choose to obey it or disobey it. We obey it when we say, “Thank You, Lord, for Your faithful love,” and trust His Word.
