Scripture Reading: Isaiah 40:31

From Wednesday we shall be embarking on a three-day fasting programme.  During these three days, we shall be waiting on the Lord. Our lead Scripture says, “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be wary, they shall walk and not faint.” To wait upon the Lord is to trust Him fully with our lives; it involves looking up to Him as our source of help and grace in times of need. The Psalmist says, “Defeat does not come to those who trust in you, but those who are quick to rebel against you.” (Psa. 25: 3) Therefore, those who wait upon the Lord are promised the strength of God to revive them in the midst of exhaustion and weakness, of suffering and trial; ability to rise above their difficulties like eagles soaring into the sky; ability to run spiritually without tiring and walk steadily forward without fainting at God’s seeming delays. In 1 Peter 1:5, the Scripture says, “If His people will patiently trust Him He will provide whatever is needed to sustain them constantly.” Share this text message with me: “Brother good morning. I was really touched by yesterday’s reflection (i.e. 18/3/16).  Tagged: Is the world making you to cry? Please I need your prayers, I cry almost every day. I feel that God is not hearing me. Even in the church I always feel hurt. No joy, no peace. I feel like leaving the faith and run to hide myself. I type this text with tears…”

This lamentation is common among believers, but the Lord wants us to patiently wait and He will satisfy us in His own time. Maybe you are like this Lady in our reflection today waiting on the Lord for breakthrough for a job, or fruit of the womb or life partner. The spirit says to you that your waiting time is not in vain. God is obviously working out something great for you. The good news for you today is that God is FAITHFUL. He will give you the underserved strength to wait. Do not think for a moment that while you are waiting nothing is happening. He is doing something for you while you are waiting. It may take some time, but God is doing something. Satan the devil may be ministering to you that God has forgotten or forsaken you. Tell him that God is in charge and has taken control. God is renewing your strength, ability and character to receive that blessing that you have been praying for. He is renewing you in every part of your life for He alone knows the plans He has for you.

Dear friend, the moment you have prayed, you have received, so do not allow any voice tell you that the time you are waiting on God in prayers and fasting is a wasted time. It is actually a time you incubate and attract God’s divine blessings and graces. Do not give up like many others who conclude that nothing is happening or that God has decided to turn away from them. As we are waiting on the Lord, let’s open up a smoother flow of communication and friendship with Him. He will turn His attention to you at a time you do not expect.
