Scripture Reading: Psalm 138:8
Pope Paul VI starts this reflection for us. He says, “We cannot form adequate concept about man unless we include God. He is mysterious, transcendent and ineffable, the eternal principles of the universe. But he watches over us, knows and observes us, penetrates and preserves us unceasingly. He is our Father”. A sister came to us for prayer ministration some time last year; at that time, she had just conceived after having five girls already. The husband was not interested in the pregnancy because he was tired of having only girls. The sister was almost going to give in to the temptation of terminating the pregnancy. The word of the Lord was ministered to her and she received strength through the word. She decided to carry the burden without the support of the husband. We took her into the chapel where Jesus is exposed in the Blessed Sacrament and prayed for her; asking God to make the child in her womb to be a baby boy. As we prayed, the power of the Lord hit this sister; and she fell under the anointing power of the Holy Spirit. As the pregnancy progressed, she came one faithful day, and complained that the signs she was having, are the same with the ones she had always had in all the previous pregnancies that turned out to be girls. I encouraged her to have faith in the prayer request we made to the Lord to make the child in her womb become a baby boy. I also told her that the sign she is having now will help her appreciate that it is God who would have performed the miracle in the end. As days were drawing closer to the day of her delivery, she started having complications. She was then admitted into the hospital. And so, we went into intensive prayers for her. Eventually she delivered a bouncing baby boy. The devil tried to terminate this miracle before its manifestation but the Lord perfected that which concerned this sister.
What is that difficult situation you are dealing with in your life? That condition that presents itself as hopeless? Beloved in Christ, no condition is hopeless. No case is closed If God gets involved. The Psalmist understood this truth hence he made this faith confession, “The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; your mercy and loving –kindness, O Lord, endures forever –forsake not the works of your own hands”. Indeed, the Lord will never forsake you. He didn’t forsake the sister in our story, he will not forsake you. You can give the Lord one more faith. You can trust him one more time, and keep doing so everyday of your life; and see the Lord do something amazing in you. Because the Lord will surely perfect that which concerns you.
1. Worship God with any song that the Spirit of God has put in your mind.
2. Pray specifically for what you want God to do for you as well as remind God of His promises.
3. Pray against the spirit of doubt, bind and cast it out of your heart.
4. Then pray: Abba father, I believe your word; I believe that you have spoken to me today. I believe that I am blessed, I believe that you will supply all my needs according to your riches in glory through Christ Jesus my Lord; I believe you will perfect all that concerns me. Amen.
Exercise: Take a pen and a sheet, write out at least seven promises of God in the Scriptures you believe God for, and for the next seven days pray them through.
