Scripture Reading: Psalm 27: 14

Most governments of the world have failed their citizens. Hopelessness, despair and failure rend the faces of people. However, the Holy Spirit assures you this day, “I will never leave my own. I shall make nations tremble because of you. You shall be called by a new name. Your garment of suffering and shame shall be torn. You can have the best form of life. Your sufferings and sorrows will be things of the past. I am ready to bring good out of that situation. But you need to trust in me. You need to have faith in me. And I will do for you the unimaginable.”

Our reference today says; “Trust in the Lord. Have faith, do not despair. Trust in the Lord.” (Ps. 27:14). A simple antidote to the problems of man is trusting in the Lord, having faith in the Lord and never getting despaired. And for those who have put their trust in the Lord, whose faith never waiver, have the following benefits “… will find their strength renewed. They will rise on wings like eagles; they will run and not get weary, they will walk and not grow weak.” (Isa. 40:28-31). Those who have put their trust in the Lord amidst the various trials that plague man, have their heads above the water; they can never be drowned by the prevailing situations around. They are likeMount Zion that cannot be shaken. The rain of the wicked shall not fall on them nor will the sun smite them; “the oil of the wicked cannot anoint their heads” (Psa.141:5b).

Beloved, what are the things disturbing your peace now? May be, disappointments, rejections, falsehood against you, life difficulties, fear of sudden deaths in the family, stagnation in business, unrepentant household wickedness etc.? Just put your trust in the Lord now and watch Him do the miraculous on your behalf. Our God is mighty. Hear this: “God is not a man that he should lie, nor a son of man that he should repent. Is he one who speaks and does not do it? Has he promised and not fulfilled?” St. Francis de Sales says this to youdearly beloved, “And in all your affairs, rely wholly on the providence of God, to which alone all your plans owe their success; nevertheless, work quite tranquilly on your part to cooperate with it, and then believe that if you have put your trust in God, the result will always be the most profitable for you, though it may seem to you good or bad according to your own judgement.”
