Scripture Reading: Romans 12:2
Our Scriptural reference says, “Do not model your behaviour on the contemporary world, but let the renewing of your minds transformed you so that you may discern for yourselves what is the will of God; what is good and acceptable and mature.” (NJB) Here, St. Paul laments that there is real pressure on Christians to conform to the pattern of the present world system and be squeezed into its mould. He advocates that such should be resisted through the attitude of docility and complete surrender to the Holy Spirit. Child of God, do you know that we are Holy Transformers. You were made to transform, not to conform. Be encouraged today; we are called to be transformers, not conformers. Disciples of Christ are called to a higher standard, a holy standard. We are mandated to bring the Kingdom of heaven to earth because Christ dwells in us. How can we do that when we continue to fill our spirits with the antithesis of holiness?
These are difficult things to say, but they are truths. We are aiding and abetting darkness to operate in our lives and those around us, being manipulation through the spirit of fear and consideration of what the world would say.
We conform to the atmosphere around us instead of bringing transformation. We bow our knees to those who can kill our bodies instead of bowing our knees to the Lord. We ask where God is in the midst of evil and tragedy, begging Him to do something when He is waiting for us to take up the standard that His Son demonstrated and to pillage hell instead of people.
There are some who know God and are doing great exploits and are demonstrating His power everywhere they go. There are transformers going into places and refusing to conform to religious hypocritical climate, and they are blazing a trail for others to follow. God does not ask some to transform, He commands all of us to transform. If I still have your attention and you have not hit the close button out of offense, be a transformer and refuse to conform to this world. Stop operating out of fear of your surroundings and start obeying Jesus’ instructions, bringing reverence back to His Holy Name. Spend time with the Lord and refuse to pollute yourself with the things of this world or a supernatural counterfeit. Stop believing that you have no power and no authority. You are on loan from heaven and you are here to turn the world around for good. Rise up, brethren and be holy transformers!
