(Day 2 of the 5- Day Fasting & Prayers)

Scripture Reading: James 1:6-8

St. Augustine of Hippo starts today this way, “Faith opens the door of understanding, unbelief closes it.” Brethren, faith is the necessary condition for miracle. God is ready to release your miracle but it is only through faith that you can receive what God has released. Hebrews 11:6 says “And without faith it is impossible to please God, for whoever would approach him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.”

Our scripture reading says “But ask in faith, never doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind; for the doubter, being double-minded and unstable in every way, must not expect to receive anything from the Lord.” Mark 11:23 reinstated this truth “Truly I tell you, if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and if you do not doubt in your heart, but believe that what you say will come to pass, it will be done for you.”

Child of God, our fasting and prayer will lack result if it is lacking in faith. We must believe whatever we are declaring if that prayer must be answered. Rex Rouis gave one of the simplest definitions of faith as ‘hearing God and believing what He says. “With God all things are possible?’ Jesus says, if you believe all things are possible. Faith is what will turn you into an unbeatable personality that can no longer be stopped or humiliated. Faith is beyond a mental ascent, Faith is a spiritual entity, not just a mental substance. Faith is not a feeling; it is an action done in obedience to God’s word. Faith enables you to stand in the midst of opposition and yet be in control. Faith gives you access to supernatural realities. Child of God, you just have to stop crying and start smiling at the mountains and the obstacles of life, begin to see them as opportunities to exercise your faith. Always remember this, only those who have faith gets whatever they prayer for, and there is no double mind when faith exist.
